Cabbage Leather problem?

Just got this one last week. It's opening up and looks very healthy, except for one spot on a lower section, which looks like it's disintegrating or something. Kinda like stringy spaghetti, and is white in color. My question is, should I remove that portion or just let it be?

If it's falling apart, I would remove the portion that's "melting". Any chance you can post a picture of the affected area?

Yes, and thank you! You can see the affected area in the lower RH side. I've never propped a Cabbage, so before I go hacking away at it, any tips for removal?

It's hard to see where it's rotting but if it's just one individual polyp, I would remove the entire polyp from the rock with a very sharp razor blade, then cut off the part that's rotting and attach the unrotted part of the polyp to a piece of rock with a rubberband until it grows onto it.

Well, I'm sure they are...but I'm always a bit nervous if you know what I mean. The first time I sawed a big chunk of Xenia off with a chain saw it just didn't feel right.
