That algae may be irritating it or, smothering it. I don't have one so, that is just an observational guess.

I didn't notice it when I got it but it's possible it had it upon purchase.

so how do I fix it? are these like a leather toadstool where you cut a piece off and they both continue to grow?

You should be able to frag that finger leather, and you'd better pray that's green stuff's not bryopsis - it looks like it could be.

and yeah, it is. I have been battling green hair for a while. I have also targeted a few causes.. to much lighting is one and the other is I still need an RO/DI filter.. Brita filters dont do **** but make me think they help.

should I just cut a square out around where that bit is infected or cut the whole finger off?
I have only fragged my zoas so far.

Check closely for softie eating nudibranchs, they tend to white and look like a little slug about a 1/4" -1/2" long... blend in well.
