T5's could i keep clams?

De-sousa? from portugal? he is a legend after that post on reefcentral. he has like two t5's on all tanks and grows so many SPS you would need a 747 to transport it all!

something about how T5's where good enough for all types of corals, some guy from Europe has a huge coral farm going with T5s...I can't find the post

i kept a clam for 1 year under a 2x24W T8 before move under a 70W MH and then to the 250W and 400W MH..

under the T8 it was.. "living" under the 70W had a small grow.. then finally was happpy to change tank and started to grow well..

the thing i saw was that under the first period of time it lost much of the colour and it never get it back even under the 400W.. the colour lost was lost forever..

so i think you can keep it.. if you put it in the higher part of the tank.. but donno what will happen about colours.. even under 250W some of mine lost a bit of brilliant colours.. now i try to keep them only under 400W

I am keeping a maxi on the bottom of my 55 gal. i have nova extremes 4x54w and 4x24w No individual reflectors. So far he is doing great. No color lost at all. Had him on a rock but couldn't keep him up there. I think t5 are the best. I think you should go for it.

what about 216 W T5's on a 55 g? could I keep one?
