Default my first clams

bought two 1' tridacna croceas last night, they ended up being a snack for a rather large crab that was in my tank... gone now... :mad:
thank God they are only 5$ as opposed to the 20 i see state side.

boy did I learn a lesson

if you want to catch that crab, put a semi tall glass on the bottom in the sand with a chunk of whatever goodie you want to use. the crab will go for it and wont be able to get out if the glass is tall enough. you can weight down the scrap to keep it in the glass. works wonders. but id wait a day or two since he just ate all your money.

all thats left of them is the shell, they were purchased from a LFS here on okinawa.

got the crab. along with natural live rock comes sea life problems... discovered i have a large pistol shrimp to catch too.

i have a couple pistols in my reef, some people dont like them but they are reef safe. had a person try and break into the house once, the shrimp scared him away.
