Default Well...

He is a South American Chiclid (that I believe ranges into extreme South Texas) thats prefers soft water as opposed to the electric yellows that are from africa and prefer harder water. He will eventually get 6-8" and will eat your tetra and probably kill your loach. He will likely do fine in hard water for awhile but will probably develop Hole in the Head disease eventually. If you plan on keeping both African and South American Chiclids it is probably better to fair on the side of softer water.
Often it is best to try and keep fish that have the same requirements as each other together. He will do fine on the same food you feed the yellows.

Good Luck
Travis

Very aggressive cichlid though not as much so as a Texas cichlid or the equivalent.

Default update on green terror

this green terror is a bit shy , hasnt shown any signs of killing anything . hes in a 450ltr tank w/ heaps of hiding places so i shall see how he goes any sign of bad i will take him back to the lfs , it can get expensive when you have one fish eating the rest

Default cool

Green terrors are cool cichlids. Not too good on my liters to gallons conversions, but assuming 65ltrs is between 30-40 gals one adult green terror would probably be about max for that tank. This isnt because of the bio load but more due to the territorial needs. You could have a pleco, and a hardy 4-5" catfish, prehaps a pair convict cichlids (mean little buggers).

Good luck, have any pics?

Travis

Default .....

Well the one we had on display at work was about 18"......and the gold tetra is probably a gold barb if hes hanging with the africans. The terrors get big and are great lookers.....hardy to boot. As for the differennces in hardnes for water it is true that the africans perfer the hard, S. american soft...but most tap water is suitable for them. Ask your LFS what they do to treat thier ph for FW....most ikley nothing as consistency is key over perfection unless your breeeding. IF you end up keeping him hell make an awesome pet.

Yes, tiny has an 11" legspan......
