| That's what I think, why listen to one idiot when you can listen to dozens? LOL no, but I do like posting and seeing what EVERYONE has to say, not just one person. Then I can research and rationalize which ideal I like best. I am very pleased with my tank so far and I have not done EVERYTHING that any one person has said. A little of this, little of that. I think that being closed minded only hurts with reefing! _________ 55 gallon slowly growing reef aquarium, 85 lbs. live rock, 2 1/2" sandbed, 1 False Percula Clown, 1 Sixline Wrasse, Tetratec PF500 filter, 2 110 watt URI Super Actinic VHO actinics, 2 250 watt metal halides with Reef Optix 2 reflectors powered by Blue Wave 3 ballast, born 1/3/08 My Tank Thread My Tank Video |

But seriously, mentoring would be a cool thing. How would it work? | Well this post / poll was to see if any one would be intrested in either mentoring or ones that felt they needed a mentor/teacher would like this idea.
So far every one likes it.
As i said in the beginning, i'll make an article and send it off to Matt for proof reeding ( always do on articles )
My thoughts were to have any one whom would like to throw their hat in to be a teacher/mentor , basicly being availible to take the person/s / beginners under their wing,
they can't find us , unless they know we're availible can they ?
those whom wishing to be a mentor can PM me, i'll add / edit their user names in the article or somthing and , those that are looking for one can see that they have people whom might take them in. _________ <B><FONT face="Comic Sans MS">[font="Tahoma"] Got Questions? Need Answers?

| Yeah, mentoring isn't really going to work unless there is near 100% similarity in the tank/livestock/coral setup of the student and teacher. And fish have different personalities - take the 6 -line wrasse for example: The mentor's 6-line may be mellow and get along with XXXfish, while the student's 6-line may be a mean bastard mother fcuker and fight every new fish in the tank after him. What I'm saying is no matter what works for one, may not work for another, regardless of experience.
Let's all just PM Tangster instead of starting new threads.
J/K - We all know Roger isn't up for all that personal mentoring, and if half the new people would search through old threads, he wouldn't need to repeat what he's already said 50 times. _________ 55gal, 65+ lbs LR, 60Lbs LS, Coralife 125 ss, Fluval 305, HydorKoralia 2 + 3, 2 YT Damsels, 2 Misbarred Clownfish, Blue Tang, Yellow Tang, Leopard Wrasse, Asstd snails and hermit crabs, skunk cleaner shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp, emerald crab, goniopora stokesi, frogspawn, and some other corals. |
