[glow=red,2,300]CONGRATS JASON![/glow]
I am "stoked" for you also...
THINK "Warm" for some advanced dive training...
Check out ...Red Sea Diving College - Prices much cheaper then here...airfares not bad (except summer) - have found for as low as $500 RT from Seattle...
or better yet...where I am headed this fall - just working on reservations now ~ 15 Sep....(hoping to make use of some frequent flyer miles - ) - Bali Scuba -
While costs a bit more to get to, their dive prices are really reasonable & living costs while there very low... more like swimming in your own tank then here...
Think big...Think warm...Think "REEFS!!!!"
Again Congrats!!!
S "Everything is possible if you can imagine it"
Only 3 Exceptions!!!! (none, none, none)

12 Gallon NanoCube - 24w stock PC 50/50 light "...nothing good ever happens fast in a reef tank, only bad things happen fast..."

Scott, I think Egypt is a little far for me to go for the advanced course
But it's about the same price here for the advance w/ dry suit training.
I can't believe your going to Dive Bali. I'm so jealous - you'd better take lots of pictures so we can all live through you. Is the whole Family going?

Just me to Bali...my "hareem" is off to ME for the summer (Beirut) - I get to stay home and mind the "zoo"...(3 fish tanks, 4 cats, large garden, 2 parrots, lawn, etc, etc - not the least of, "work" to pay off their trip)...
"Bali" is my "payoff" - (they are a wonderfully understanding group of ladies!!! ) (also have some other "business"/"investment" "recon" to attend to in Jakarta, so trip not just for diving/and hopefully visiting Gresham's "gather's"
Coincidence you mention "photos"...have spend good part of this weekend seeking out the art of underwater photography on the web...
Have promised self after Florida trip this spring not to get into water again without a high quality UW camera...so am looking to upgrade the 2.0 Megapixel one I have...then learn how to use properly...
Just need to match up new one with a good underwater housing...
Anyone here have some good input on choices?
Jason, now that you are seeing some neat stuff, you need to get/learn to use also...
We will get Matt to set up a special " ive" photo album area we can all share pics at. Others here must have also...
Rgds,
S
(Egypt is "closer" then you think...and of course, excuse to see lots else... ) |

| Re: SCUBA cert The newest Canon Digital is 'Da Bomb. Very pricey (maybe $1200) but it takes pictures at a resolution the is better than an EOS Elan or Rebel (w/film), has all the same features as either one, and a huge memory capacity. My sister-in-law has one and my jaw was on the floor.
But wouldn't you know she's married to a vetinarian with his own Internal Animal Medicine Clinic (obviously my dear brother) so the bucks were not really an obstacle.
Me, I have a Canon Sureshot ($30).
I'd love to have one of the new digitals with a hard drive in it and the capability of using the Smart Cards. |
