 |  Petco makes me sick
so I was with a friend today who just started a freshwater tank. he wanted to look for decortions a Petco. While driving there I told him about the horror stories about the saltwater fish they have. as soon as we walk in I see a tank full of damsils. one was dying on the bottom. next I see in the same tank a 5" yellow tang upside down on the gravel. the poor fish was just gasping deeply. this stores treatment of fish is enough to make me sick and I deal with human death on a monthly basis a work. never the less my Friend learned a lesson today and will not purchase items from the store again. |

the walmart at my house used to have freshwater fish and they had to get rid of them due to a petition | |

I think it all comes down to a lack of training for the employees. The people working there a very limited in saltwater setups. | |

Petco is like the ARMY its all decided how its to be done right down the check list nothing changes or substituted . If the saltwater lord himself went to work at a Petco he would not be allowed to change anything . Its assembly line pet sales . Only way anything can be deviated from is by the corporate offices . Hell look at the free publicity they get here alone . No such thing as Bad publicity .. i love my LFS its a small shop and they only sell saltwater fish. They quarantine all their fish for 5 days in special tanks before they get moved up front | |
