Just to educate you a bit - Hurricane deductibles are usually 2% to 5% of the insured value per storm, not per year. In our case, it is 3%. That's a bit more that $500 or $1,000.

You remember that when you get into an auto accident and my auto insurance premium jumps up even though I have never one single traffic citation. You are beginning to talk non-sense. Every single person in this country, in one way or another, pays for every other person. Be it Federal/state income taxes, sales taxes, etc. Stop thinking that you are the only one being prodded to cough up the cash to cover the rest of the nation.
