New dell no eject button what!!!

my sister just got her new laptop from dell, and it has no eject button for the cd drive, the only way to eject a cd is from the window operating system. that is just rediculous this basically prevents you from doing any kind of maitanence off a cd outside the operating system. god help you if you install a linux distro that doesn't have a eject cd button inside the os.

im just ranting, but seriously i would be pissed if it was my computer. it cripples you from switching a cd with out being in windows.

what brand cd rom is it

i looked through the manual apparently it has one on the keyboard on the extra buttons at the top but it doesn't seem to be working out of windows(maybe its broken). its one of the cd drives with no tray you just slid the cd in

i see the keyboard buttons are most likley contrled by a windows driver if your computrer cd rom only supports soft eject thats lame

the last one of these i saw had a touch sensor on the side that functioned as an eject button also, physical buttons are going away in laptop controls all the ones at work are light sensors for everything now

Look closely for a small pin hole somewhere in the cdrom, if there is not one then what's what she get for buying from dell...lol J/K the truth is Dell, HP, Gateway and even the E Machine are built for no upgrade, basically a disposable pc
