B-B-Q Yummmmm | FW Trout taste so much better then SW Trout, lol. There is no size limit, just creel limit. Thats cause when they are biting, you can catch 20+ of them in no time. I caught 10 trout, a bass and a huge bluegill in like a hour and 30 mins. Tossed everything back but the 7 largest trout. If everybody kept what they caught, they would fish out places that have trout around here.
You also have to have a Trout license on top of a regular fishing license. There are hefty fines for keeping trout without a license for them. A lot of people keep them and dont realize what they are. The other day I went, didnt keep any then, there was guy there and he started talking to me when I was leaving. He asked if I caught any etc, then he said he was about to cut this "bass" up and use it for bait for catfish. I looked at it and asked if he knew what it was, and he replied "its a bass" then continued to show me the head of it. I kinda laighed and said thats a trout, then showed hi the rainbow stripe on it. Let him know about the $5000 fine for keeping one without a Tout license, let alone cutting one up for bait, lol. So in return, I showed him one of the best spots on that lake for catfish, you can catch them anytime of day there, just have to know what to use for bait there. 99 times out of 100, I fish to fish, not to eat. He was fishing to eat and some small childeren with him and didnt look like he had a lot of money. So I did what I could to help him catch some food. Looking back on it, I should have stayed a little while longer and caught some trout with them and carried them to their car when they were ready to go cause I have a Trout license which means I can take them from the lake, doesnt mean I have to keep them for myself, lol. |
