He he he.. No seriously I'd posted in numerous threads since the site change. And My Karma actually dropped when it changed. I figured I must've pissed somebody off, but then I couldn't recall when. Plus it's always fun to throw around a little Karma. After all who really wants to come back as a bristle worm. And we all deserve it right, we all struggle to keep the tanks alive and have hearty debates about them and just about anything else. Right?

Speedy,
Do you often add to other people's Karma?

I just accidently discovered that clicking on the "I disapprove" button when adding karma actually subtracts karma.

I disagreed with a post and used the "disapprove" button (Yeah, yeah, I know the difference between disagree and disapprove.) The person's karma went from one to zero! I felt awful -- so I searched out another of his comments to add karma and right my wrong. (the system wouldn't let me add to his, though, until I had added to someone else's reputation first.)

Anyway, from now on I'll think before I click. Every day it seems I learn something new, whether I mean to or not!

Yes Saw I do like to distribute karma. Not just to those who lend useful advice, but to those, that work hard at keeping they tanks on the up and up. And to those that are suffering because of a reef-related loss. Sometimes we forget about that slick little Karma button. I feel it is a great addition to the forums. Because when you read a persons comment, you take a look at their karma and you know how much weight the comment should bare. And it stands for their reputation on the board as well.

It's been a month...are we still being generous with our Karma? Or, are we all too busy now that the holiday season is over?
These past few weeks, I've tried to read a lot of different threads on different subjects, and wave the Karma wand at those deserving -- especially newer members still at the plankton level.
I think there have been a lot of thoughtful discussions and great ideas lately. I'm especially impressed with how civil the discussions are, unlike those on other parts of the web and on talk TV. I'm glad that I joined 3Reef!!!
