hey everyone i was just wondering if im alone on this or not.. my girl freind says she does not like my hobby (my tank and aquatics in general). because it is all i talk about, read about, and look at online. if some one stops by they ask about my tanks (everyone ask about them, usally even if they have seen them before) she hears the same thing all the time.. i cant help it i love the hobby. i think she likes them but she does not want to say so since she is always giving me a hard time about it. let me know if i am alone or not!! thanks

My wife loves my tank, loves everything I do with it -- hates the bills, but loves the tank. I guess you would call it a love-hate thing :)

My significant other thought i was a complete dork at first... Always gave me sarcastic ooo cooollll, thats awesome explanations when i would talk about or show her things in my tank. Now though after about a year, she has her own FOWLR tank and purchased the 14 gallon biocube that is now underway in my room. The addiction is contagious.

I met my husband through the hobby. I couldn't imagine doing this without him. Our current build has worked out so that:

I planned and built the stand.
    He planned the plumbing.
He decided on the skimmer and pumps.
    I decided the lighting.
    So on and so forth.

We have found it better for one person to totally take over different aspects of the build. Otherwise it's a lot of duplicate research.

We both have the same spending restraint, so we never even really talk about money as far as the hobby goes.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Mine really could care less. Fish and fish products as he likes to refer to it.

Just last month he told me that " yes dear your rocks are colorful", umm that would be my acropora.

The metal halide lighting at 6 am causes him problems as well.

The fish are a " bunch of freaks " as he calls them.

The tank could be gone and he would probably somewhat happy.

You have no idea how cool it is to be in my shoes as far as spousal interest is concerned. Your hobby enjoyment would climb 10-fold. It's nice if a spouse enjoys it somewhat.... but it totally rocks when they are as interested.

And our close friends are... you guessed it.... also in the hobby. Life is good.
