Default calcium chloride

Ok i know this isnt much to do with a reef set up but i was woundering, is mrs wages calcium chloride?? the reason i ask is that i have a swimming pool and the water chemistry is off. it says you can add calcium chloride to raise your total hardness. so do you think i could just use mrs wages or not?? and if so what ratio. Thanks in advance.
