I am wanting to get a new camera and have been amazed at all the awesome pictures that people have posted and have wondered what is a good camera that people use. I want to really focus on the polyps.

Lens is the key. I use the 100mm Canon macro. Cameras are temporary. Lenses are forever.

I use a canon XTi body currently.

Yes lenses can be expensive. i have one lens that was over 2k. i love it but it set me back a bit. Worth every penny when trying to get a pic of a hawk 80 yards away it is well worth it.
