Default newbie

I being one of the newbies, see your point..
I for one asked about the white spots on my glass.. And the answers
were no help at all..!!
AFTER doing a search, and as of yet.. Still not sure what they are..

Sometimes we post FAST, without searching... Because we think we're going to lose everything in out tank,,
Without help FAST ..
And sometimes the repeat, has better info that we understand..

We newbies, hate repeaters.. But I don't think it's just the newbies......
So cut us a little slack.. I really think it unfair that we got picked out,
when it's a problem everywhere..
Being new I bet 1/2 the newbies, don't even know how to search..
But they do learn, And I bet they learn now..!! LOL

Just a newbie, Larry

And I 100% agree with you....

I read all the live rock newb threads before I posted. Some here may think it was the same thing already posted a hundred times. I just wasn't getting the exact vibe from the old posts as I got from my own.
I know where ya coming from though.

Many good points on this thread, I do find it easier to respond if someone says they've been reading about something and understand some of the info but had some specific questions rather than "I want to know about live rock tell me everything." I like the idea of telling people in the welcome message about the search tools, and this might be a tall order to ask of Matt but maybe a "search tutorial" would be a good idea? I think it would be great, heck most all of us could probably learn from it, I know I could. A complete walk through tutorial. What do you think Matt, is this idea plausible?

I looked through the posts in the ID forum regarding white spots on glass. Could you point us in the right direction? Was it not one of the items in the Stickies at the top of this forum? ID This! - 3reef Forums
