Default "Reef Prayer"

(Sorry, kind of a long post...)

While I have ranted that this DVD is a must if you have HD/BlueRay. (now see it comes with a standard CD version also....)

"Visions of the Sea: Explorations by HDScape (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD]"

$16.95 ea. (new) at Amazon.com

Why spend all the $ and go thru all the bother (except that is part of the fun) to travel to odd places in the world to enjoy the beauty of a natural reef, when I can just travel now from my living room.

The technology of video and photography has now made it possible to experience all the wonder and beauty of diving on a coral reef right from your living room easy chair. The mind-boggling beauty - which the brain cannot comprehend/or "remember" (hence why we keep returning) - is right here! --- For some reason, the phrase, "...Looking into the Eye of God..." always comes to me when diving...(get same feeling when looking down into Grand Canyon) --- the awesome vision shows just how insignificant we really are.

Anyway...here is first dive experience on this HD DVD...

note: pics don't do near justice to the actual resolution on screen. - but will give idea anyway.

"...Visions of the Sea: Explorations was captured in High Definition by Emmy Award winner Anthony S. Lenzo, one of the world's foremost underwater videographers, and the developer of innovative underwater housings that allow him to take the audience to locations previously inaccessible to video cameras. Explore some of the world's most pristine and unspoiled coral reefs with an underwater tour of Fiji, Bonaire, Honduras and The Bahamas. Experience ocean life as never before in spectacular High Definition video that brings your home entertainment system to life. Visions of the Sea: Explorations features Dolby? TrueHD audio..."

Dual Format - Plays on HD DVD and Standard Definition Players
Footage captured in stunning High Definition 1920X1080
Widescreen format
5.1 Dolby Digital
Repeat Option
Additional behind the scenes video
Music composed and performed by Mark Waldrep an Carl Veheyen
Additional ausio track provided by ASL Productions, Inc.
Additional behind the scenes footage by Sylvain Marcotte.
Runtime: 60:00
Aspect: 16.9 Widescreen.

I should get a commission -

BUT...I got out my old "Coral Sea Dreaming" CD and played it for the first time in just ages. (Has not been watched since arrival of new DVD)

Just shorter, and not quite the definition of the above DVD, it is a much more beautifly done production...In "Visions..." the definintion is such that you can see parasites, pods, etc on the smallest of fish...

Coral Sea Dreaming (1996)

$21.99 at amazon.com

Also has a couple "Add ons" one of them being scenes from Bali. Which used to be my most favorite place in the world. Even thought about moving over there several times.

----
Seriously, I can't help after watching either of these for a few minutes, finding myself praying ---that whenever I pass on, to just make me coral reef creature out there somewhere.

Could not ever possibly be a more of a "Heaven" then that...

"Reef Prayer"

To the One Great "God", the "Forgiving," "Merciful", and Creator of the Heavens and Earth.

When time designated for me to "Pass on," Please, as within your power, recreate me a tropical coral reef denizen.

I would be glad to just be a head of coral enjoying the great consistent passage of beauty through Eternity...

And while you are at it, (if at all possible)

Please recreate me on a Reef, far from any human habitation...

And one small last request, if I have any say in the matter, I would really, really, like to be a Sea Turtle.

Amen.

(Ummm, where did that pop out from...????)

Does come in Blue Ray,

Link you want at amazon.com: Visions of the Sea: Explorations [Blu-ray]

On sale: $15.95 (save $9.00)

Note: The HD version comes with both standard DVD and HD DVD. --- So you can enjoy on regular CD until you upgrade to HD.

The BluRay version does not come with a standard DVD version.

One feature I really like is that DVD comes with a "repeat" option so you can run it 24/7 and have a beautiful reef in your living room all day/night long if you want...(I choose to...)

Accompanied by very smooth, relaxing music.

Get one, you will never be sorry. Plan plenty of time to just sit in front of TV being mind boogled with a long series of gorgeous "eye candy"
