heres a review i did a few months back when i first got the book.(copy&paste) Quote:
Ok i just got my copy of this book yesterday. i did the usual "drool at the pics and read the captions" first, then i got to reading. only up to chapter 3 so far, but its clear James did his homework  . just in the first 2 chapters there are many many references to back up James' claims and he repeatedly encourages you to go to these references to learn more. and if you have any questions about how clams feed ,what they eat, do they filter feed, can they get by with out filter feeding and the big one "do you need to feed small clams" you wont have these questions after chapter 2.
that's it for now, now i need to go forget some things to make room for the rest of the book
i finished up the book a few weeks ago, just keep forgetting to finish my review.
ok ill cut to the chase. im giving it 5 out of 5 clam shells
James didn't leave any stone unturned. great info all the way through.
i thought i knew how Croceas and Maximas bored into the rock, but i only knew half of it.
| Knops book is good and im not throwing my copy away any time soon but this new book covers thing that Knops book never touched. also this new book is 10 years newer and includes alot of scientific data that just wasn't available when Knop wrote his book.
if you dont know who James Fatherree is go here James W. Fatherree, M.Sc.
and if you want to see some of the photos from the book go here Picsbase.com

| Ditto,
Daniel Knop's Clam book is without exception one of the nicer books on Tridacna's, however their is so much data and topics that are recently been touched on that weren't realised back when Danile wrote his book. Always updated material to update our live stock and make us more successful in our quest for the most beautiful and sought after tank! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F.
