The tank is coming along nicely. The green algae junk is finally going away. Not sure if it's the clean up crew, reduced lights, just because, or a combination of the three. The clowns are doing great and eating well. We did go on a bristle worm capturing mission last night and caught one, along with 3 very small brittle stars. It was kind of cool. The brittle stars are back in the tank - the worm is not!

Finally!!! I thought this day would never get here (patience, patience, I know). Picked up the 25 pounds base rock last weekend and rinsed it off and let it dry. Went to the LFS yesterday and picked up 20 pounds of fully cured LR, 40 pounds of LS, and 50 gallons of water fresh out of the 500 gallon coral tank - pretty cool! The water is clear and everything is up and running. We had one little glitch - the overhang box had a little drip leak, so my son patched it with silicone this morning....

We're getting close now! The tank is set up, the stand came in last night, and the powerheads are in place. The sump should be delivered today and we'll set it up and do a trial run with tap water to make sure everything works. We're going to run that for a few days, then empty the tank and let everything dry. I can paint the background then - I wanted to be sure the tank didn't have any leaks before I started painting it. I'm hoping to "go live" and start cycling with substrate/LR/base...

Picked up my tank today. I've ordered the stand, sump, powerheads. Will be ordering some other stuff this week. I hope to start cycling in 2-3 weeks.

I've settled on the 46 gallon bowfront. Will be ordering the stand this week. Still working on the sump - will have to order that too. I'll wait on the lights - maybe an Xmas present. Will also wait on the protein skimmer until needed. I'm still debating about base rock/LR and will probably not use live sand. I'm going to the LFS (we have a local saltwater only store, except the last time I was there he tried to sell me a gigantic tank that wouldn't fit in my space). My goal is to get things...
