Woo Hooo!! I've been wanting to come on here and share the joy...but, I haven't had the time...but the battle of the cyano is officially OVER!! I don't know...maybe it wasn't even cyano?? But whatever it was, its GONE now! Only after intense cleaning, 1 week without lights, another week with only 5 hours of light a day, 2 cycles of phosphate remover, 1 larger hermit crab, and 1 lawnmower blenny, oh, and lots, and lots of patience!! That hermy just ate it up! I couldn't believe it! ANd by chance...

Since my last post, I've (once again) cleaned out as much as possible...only for it to come back WITH A VENGEANCE! Now it's on some of my rock...and it's even stringier than before...I'm thinking it's worse cause it just spreads when you disturb the substrate, but its nearly impossible not to if you want to gt it all out...I very carefully try to "peel" away the layer with my fingertips, but some always gets away...i bought a lawnmower blenny cause that was the only algae eater they had...

Sooo, I spent a good 2 hours yesterday trying to take out as much of the funk as possible...I tried different ways but in the end, I just used my fingers. I had started trying to net it, but I was taking out to much substrate, so I canceled that, then I tried scooping it, and that didn't work it just made a mess, I finally ended up carefully scraping the surface removing the top layer, and sifting the sand between my fingers until only the funk remained, then I threw it in a nearby net. Of course...
