Zoas Are Dying!!!!

my zoas are sick. I had my first coral and first colony die from this before. The last colony, each polyp would start to shrivle up and spit brown stuff out and then die. Then the tube would get algea all over it and fall off. The last colony I quarantined and iodine dip at least 5-7 times. Still got worse put them in another buddies old tank, sand lights filters heater. and a ton of pods. Anyway don;t know if this is the same thing but is reminding me of it. iodine dipped these guys and then took the pic, using lugols iodine for 20 mins.

Are you seeing yellowish/white spots on the closed polyps?

no, haven't seen any lesions

If water conditions are OK, which they seem to be as I can see other zoa's opened up in pic., then I would say new ones are just getting acclimated to new conditions...

Most common zoa predator that often show up with new colonies are Sundial snails...



My zoas were slowly being decimated till I found a couple of these.




They are real hard to see hunkered down in polyps or hiding nearby till night, when they go out and wreck havoc on your beautiful zoa colonies.


Look closely..

If none about, would consider some serious back to back water changes to dilute any possible toxin build up in tank...

sometimes my hermits attacked some until they just stopped opening any more, which get me really mad and i grab they and throw them on the other side fo the tank hahah,

I have encountered nudis and the sundials. Its niether. I did a water change, 15%. No other zoas on the colony are affected. No others in the tank either.

They look bad. One has died, and the others are pretty close. what should I do?? I can't quantine them.

oh yeah the ones in the pic that are open are the sick ones. The rest are closed because I just dipped them.

today everyone is open, but the ones that are open in the pic still look like that. I will none of the other are looking bad. There are a few that are closed. Anyone have any ideas????? Before it was like the zoas where cheesing out, they are not doing that this time.
