A BTA will want to be on rock, and it will move to find a good location (combination of current and light that makes it happy). Once established, BTAs tend to stay put. If it starts moving, it may mean something has changed in your system and needs to be addressed. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Read up on the physiology of BTAs. They will open and close as a natural part of their life cycle. Your BTA will want to anchor its foot on rock. What kind of lights do you have? Are you supplementing your BTA's diet with meaty marine treats?

BTAs have light requirements, especially without supplemental feedings. They also require a mature tank with stable water params. What are your water test results?

your parameters are okay, just your light level. I have 2X 250 watt halides on my 55g tank, that i got mainly because of anenome
