Upgraded tank to 90g now BLENNY IS DEAD Help-ASAP-3reef Forums

Hi i just upgraded last night to a 90g tank from a 30. Everything looked fine last night and today I came home and he was laying in the sand. My husband thinks I starved him but I only feed all my fish as much as they can eat in a minutes time. I'm wondering if he went into shock. He might have had ich but I was never sure. My local pet store told me there was no cure for ich but to do a massive water change. I did and everything seemed to get better. Anyways any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if you switched tanks with out letting the new tank cycle that could be the cause of the fishes shock and death

Also, water changes don't remove ich from a tank. They go through several cycles and sometimes the ich is in your substrate and sometimes it's on the fish. There's only a short period where it's loose in the water.

so what can i do to help my fish out. I just got a Valentini Puffer and I love her. i also have a domino that was a tiny baby and now he's BIG. Is there something I can do?

Fish that aren't stressed are often able to shake off ich infections. I would watch and see. If they start flashing (scratching bodies against rocks/sand) let us know and you might need to quarantine them.

most of your blennys/dragonets require a mature substrate, IE plenty of pods for them to eat. Blennys are carnivores. Thats why most of them are hard to keep and should be one of the last fish you put into a tank. Probaly when you changed tanks, you lost a lot of pods in the move. Therefore the belenny probally starved to death, IMO.

Ya know I wish these pet stores would inform you more about what fish to buy and when. Not knowing any better I bought a pretty good size Huma Huma Trigger and told them if was going into a 30g. What a mess he was so nervous - pacing back and forth \ so I took him back and traded him for my eel.
I just have a question about lighting> What kind of lightinfg do I need for a 90g. All I have right now is live rock. I was told coral can die if not enough light is that true?

Whats the cheap way to make a light so I can have the anenomes ect.?

Well, those Humma-Humma triggers are avid swimmers. The only time mine slows down or stops is when it's sleeping. He was like that in the store too, so I know he's not nervous. It's just his personality.

a Valentini Puffer (who I haven't seen puff yet), 2 2stripe damsels, 1 domino(who has grown sooo much), 2 blue damsels one with a yellow tail, a snowflake eel, a tomato clown, a pretty big hermit crab that sometimes eats my snails

, a few turbo and pyramid snails and my fav my chocolate chip starfish

The light I have on there now says corallife 6000k> Is that enought for some plants mushrooms? What should I start out with? I was told to rearrange my rock so that it is taller so it can receive more light.
I don't know I just love love my tank.
I just bought some test strips and I feel like I am always testing my water. The last 3 are sky high. They are hardness, alkalinity, and ph. Fish are OK though. I should have just left it to the pet store to test my water now Im overconcerned about it.

Take some water to the store and have them test it for you. When you transer to a much larger tank, your tank will go thru another cycle untill the good bacteria builds back up to handle the load.

If the pet stores told you the truth about everything, then they wouldnt have a need to sell you all the crap that doesnt work for you to try.
