Unhappy turbo snails

i bought 20 big (2 inch tall) turbo snails yesterday for my tank (stocking up for the future..) but ...

i did the acclimatation (20 minutes with many water added each time) and then put them in the main tank..
this morning they were all in the same position as yesterday night when i put them inside..

after some hours the light were on i saw ONE moving a bit.. but nothing else..

after 4 hours from light's on they "move" .. tentacles.. but they fell upside-down.. they .. cant attack them to the grass.. glass.. rocks..

they are unable to stay "linked" to the place they are and they fell..

seems they cant move for that.. so they stay still and.. like dying...

any idea on what i have to do ?

someone told me i have lo pH (7.9-8.3) so i'm using 1g of kalkwasser (on 120g of sys) to make it raise a bit..

but... wont them to die.. all my fishes are ok.. also the one we bought yesteday ( a Istigobius orantus) and also corals are ok (sps lps soft anemone.. etc..)

just them are... donno..

help please..

Have you tested your tank for stray voltage yet?

So as ammcarrig recommends.

Extra care with Water params and acclimation needed for snails.

Get dead ones out as soon as identified.

4/5 tubos (large ones) should be more then enough for your size tank.

Do some quick back to back water changes ASAP!

Good Luck!

(Keep eye on those water params!!!)

I have found that inverts are more sensitive to stray voltage than fish are. Seeing as you were having problems with shrimp before and now snails, this may very well be the problem. However, I have also heard people complain that their turbo snails were dying because the particular species that they were getting came from waters cooler than what we keep in our tanks so that may very well be part of the problem too.

btw.. cant remove the dead snails.. as they seems all live... and dead...
when i get one to remove it start to move the tentacles (eyes ?)
so i donno if they are dying or not -.-

adding KW to raise pH (someone told me it can be that one..) and will raise salinity to 1026..

if they are "cold" snails i'm beaten.. as i keep 25.5-26.5° celsius degrees..

Pull out each and give a "sniff test" --- you will know right away if dead or alive...
