Temp wayyyy to high SOS

Well first off guys I want to say thank you so much for helping me with this issue. I really feel like part of team here with tons of support and I want to thank you all for that! Second my temp slowly dropped over last night and today, it is now around 80. still a little high but all the windows are open in that room to cool it down.

Keep us posted on how things go over the next few days. I always make a tupperware full of RO/DI ice cubes for the rare 100 degree days here in the PacNW.

Wow, I've never had much success with ice. During the summer someone turned off the AC over a weekend and the office turned into an oven. The tank was 86 when I got in on Monday. I grabbed 4 big bags of ice from the corner store and dumped them in the sump. It dropped the temp about 2 degrees max. I expected more. An important 2 degrees, but not a sustainable fix. I lost some leathers, and xenia.

Yeah, Xenia are especially succeptable to warm temperatures! When you are adjusting temperatures, up or down, you need to do it slowly over a matter of hours at least, to ensure your fish etc. don't get stressed out. For fish ICH is a disease very prevalent with this fluxuation.

HI,
I had a glass heater in freshwater tanks no problem, but it may have a bad (O-ring) ,are you using a power source thru GFI's Any short or problem will trip them .
Thats how I found my bad heater, plug in the heater in power strip plugged in a GFI ,no power but it would work plugged in a power strip no GFI .
PS thats a bad thing.
