| Tank move...disturb substrate? I just read the Coral Reefers article on moving your tank and posted a comment/question there, but since it doesn't show up on the live threads page, I'm posting it again........
I'm moving my tank onto a new cabinet stand and hooking up my sump/fuge tomorrow. I'm spending today making extra salt water and planning things.
Would you recommend taking the sand bed out of the tank if I'm keeping the same tank? I know it's chancy moving a AGA tank w/ substrate in it, but it'll only be a foot or so to the new stand. What kind of effects should I expect if I do go ahead and mix and stir up the sand bed?
Thanks mucho!

| Sand bed is about 3 inches (I know, it's not a real useful depth, but Tangster's Magical Kitty Litter Fuge Mud should help soon!) and has been running for about 9 months... |

| As long as you can lift it I would leave it. I've often moved tanks across town nevermind just across the room without taking out the sand. Just don't let things slosh around too much inside. |

| I've moved my 20 high so many times... with the sand in. Never had a problem. Like its been said above just try not to make a big mess and slosh everything around. Take out as much water as you can and move it. It's a 2 person job though, i know its only a 20 and there not that heavy but you could crack the glass if you dont get a square grip on it.

| The more people and beer the merrier and easier it will be. It should make you very thirsty having to move a heavy tank like that, so you will want to hydrate your body with fluids! hahahhahaha
Good luck with the move!
