Default Sick Starfish Help

I HAVE A STRAFISH FOR 3 MONTHS, WENT ON VACA AND RETURNED TO FIND WHITE GLOBS/PATCH'S FALLING OFF HIM AND A SMALL HOLE NEAR ONE ?DIGIT? ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.

well if you have other things in the aquarium, i would take him out and put him in a quarentine (sP?) tank for now, and see what happens, other then that i dont know how to help.

Dieing' falling apart , maybe from not enough food for it to eat' ot it was hassled by a fish and picked at , now it's in decline, watch it closely , you will most likley have to remove it from what it sounds like.

I had problems like that with starfish for years in a tank of mine. Never found out what was causing just that after a few months the starfish would start "erroding" until it was dead.

I'd take the advice of getting it quarintined and see if that helps or not.

I had a chocolate chip starfish that developed white patches that started "eating" his arms. Nothing helped and I had to put him out of his misery. There are pics here on 3Reef under "invertebrates".
