    Hi guys,

To make this easier, I have uploaded a video below, please view it and let me know whats going on.

Here's a text version of what's going on.

My anemone has been in that state, for about 2 days now. It has that white "string" material hanging from it for 2 days now. I don't know if its dying and if it is, I need to know so I can remove it before it kills everything!I did a Water Change 2 nights ago, but I don't think that would have any impact, as I do it every week. Plus the water was RO/DI. I occasionaly feed it frozen shrimp (actually thawed first). It gets plenty of light! I have had the anemone for about 2 months now, so I believe if it was anything "tank related" it would have come before this.

    Tank Specs:
As of 4 days ago, I had my water tested and all parameters came back good!
    Temperature 78-80 Fahrenheit
    Salinity 1.025
Tank has been running for quiet a while now, and is full cycled.
    Using CPR Protein Skimmer
    250W lights, 2x Acentic, 2x HO, 3 LEDS
    29 Gallon Tank
    20 lbs of Live Rock.
    2 Clownfish
    1 Neon Goby
    1 Coral Beauty
    1 Yellow Leather Coral

By running for quite a while you mean? Anemones are not supposed to be in a tank younger than 6 months. Some people say a year.

I can't see the video since I'm On my iPhone. But this would bump your question. Good luck.

It has been about um...well over 6 months. I just read on another forum, that this happens when you introduce soft coral to the tank.

I put in a yellow soft coral about 1 week ago, could this be my problem?!

Anybody have any ideas? I'm getting ready to remove it and put it in a QT container, if no one has any suggestions? Is it splitting?!

My First question is what does "I had my water tested and all parameters came back good!" Actual numbers would help a lot.
I would start to get some test kits of your own so you do not have to rely on the LFS.

IMO I wouldn't think the soft coral would have much effect on the Anemone.
When you say you have plenty of light what is "Plenty"

Could you please answer the following questions
    Brief description of the problem.
    A picture(s) will also help.
    PARAMETERS (important)

Jason, I don't have the numbers. The LFS employee just told me they are "fine". I stated above my lighting. Water source is RO/DI. It has 1 powerhead. I feed it once every 3 weeks with Target Feeding.

I have taken the Anemone out and put it in a QT container.

Sorry I see the lighting spec now

Something has happened and without knowing what the numbers are it's very difficult to tell.

Soft corals wouldn't affect the anemone. I have a bunch in my tank with nems w/ no issues.

I've never seen a string like that before. I'm not sure what it is. The nem doesn't look good but I've seen mine recede like that for a short period (one or two days). Never with a string like that. It is not splitting by the way.

I don't want to come across like I'm scolding, but..... you should be testing your tank parameters yourself and recording all values in a notebook so you can identify changes. The LFS may be saying your values are "good" for fish only tank. A reef tank needs much better parameters. You need to have quantitative values not just qualitative assessments from the LFS. If you're not performing the measurements yourself and logging them then IMHO you're tank is not ready for an anemone.

Wish I could help you more.

    Don't worry about it! :)

I have removed the anemone and put him in a QT container.
Whatever happens just happens, its good!
