Sailfin tang spinning out of control!

    I woke up this morning to find my Desjardini Sailfin tang spinning and twirling crazily around the tank. It would do this for about 10 seconds and then kind of float, having trouble righting itself. Right now it's hiding in the rock work. Should I attemp to remove and place into QT?

    Parameters are:
    Temp: 78.9
    Salinity: 1.023
    pH: 8.2
    dkh: 9
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate: 20

    Also, I just changed all of the cartridges and membrane on my RODI filter. TDS meter reads 0.

    Almost sounds like a bladder problem. How was or when was the last time you saw him eat?

    I've had fish spaz before and then be fine - for no apparent reason. The floating part and trouble uprighting is what concerns me. You may want to try and place in QT for closer observation if you can catch it without a ton of stress.

    This afternoon, the fish looks better and is just hiding in the rock work. I think trying to catch him and acclimate to another tank would worsen the problem. I'll keep an eye on him today.

    Ha! I hope it doesn't screw up my water quality. Actually, he looks better and is swimming around out in the open.
