Default purple on sand

i had started gettin purple coverin all over my sand (im guessing corline algea) is there anyway to stop it from turning my sand purple

nu 2reef my one friend was over and he said that he thinks its cyno bacteria but wasnt sure how do u get rid of cyno bacteria (i will try to post a pic tonight)

AKA "red slime algae" if your someone who doses there are red slime bottles to reduce the growth but something is feeding the growth. check water params and possibly more frequent water changes will help. also check your filter and pads make sure all is clean and working efficiently. good luck.

dont stir the sand, bad things happen. having more flow will eliminate the slime areas, along with what nu stated, check this out:
Boyd Chemi-Clean 2g (Saltwater Aquarium Supplies > Medications > Red Slime/ Cyanobacteria Removers )
