Exclamation Please Help!

We bought an anemone and think we added it to the tank the wrong way. We picked it up out of the bag then put it in the tank. Arent you supposed to never let it get out of the water. It was looking real bad, like it was melting but now seems to be doing better, but we dont know for sure. Thanks for the help!

Yup, they can be exposed to air for a certian time...my worry is how long your tank has been up for...anemones are very timid when it comes to water quality...they prefer a mature tank with perfect levels and good lighting

An update- this morning the anemone looked perfect. he backed up against a couple of rocks and was large and flowing. Now I'm starting to get scared again- He's all shriveled up and this time his tenticles even look deflated. Help!
Also, if all this normal behavior then how would I know if he was dying?

I will say that the lighting is excellent-plus its a shallow tank- and the water perameters are great, however our tank is pretty newly set up- i hope he dont die! I didnt know they needed and older set up. Why do you think they do?
