Re: Omg. Warning, Graphic! I lost many a fish to a carpet anemone before I finally got rid of it. Not fish friendly at all so you might want to reconsider keeping it your tank. I doubt you did it any harm by pulling the fish out.

Re: Omg. Warning, Graphic! I ended pulling a Condilactis for the same reason. 4 nassiurus snails, 1 sand sifting star, and finally a blue damsel and it was out.

Not to bring up a bad time in life with your tank. I was just wondering how much did you feed your carpet? I bought one and have not seen any of my fish even my clowns go near it. I have been feeding it Slversides (1 a day) so maybe that will stop the hunger to a point.

| Bastard... . I agree with Berlin_Joe, you might not have quenched his hunger and thought the tang was tasty. I wonder how he swallowed him, he might have struck in the night time. IMHO, you should of let him eat it. He was gone anyway.
Wow, sorry for the loss. First time I saw carpets at the LFS, I knew they would be trouble to introduce to my tank. yeesh.

Anemones can't "turn off" their nematocysts so feed it all you want, the carpet anemone will continue to sting and kill fish. If it's not hungry, it will simply barf up the half digested fish shortly after it swallows it. IME, the only good place to keep a carpet anemone is in a dedicated anemone/clownfish tank.
