Just found a molt of a large crab.. started thinking it was my emerald i hadnt seen in a while.. then noticed it was different.

Was light colored, very hairy, and had huge sharp claws.. have heard of gorilla crab horror stories in the past...

Decided to google.. and it looks EXACTLY the same... i havent got rock in months.. so must have been in there..

    what do i do?

yea take a glass cup and put something enticing at the bottom like a krill or something...
then place in your tank against the rock that you suspect it lives in on a slight slant.
come back in the morning and hopefully you have a present in the cup!

they cant crawl up glass so they get stuck in there... cheapest trap out there ;)

The glass or bottle trap may take a couple of tries and you need to make sure the container is positioned in a way that the crab can get into it, They also have a good reach it needs to be tall enough that the crab can't pull itself out by the rim. If all else fails and you can remove the LR it hides in and put it in QT, it will be easier to use the trap. That's what I ended up doing.
