Default nudi/type of snail?

So there is something in my tank that only comes out at night, that looks like a slug but has a hard back, doesnt really look like a shell but could be... i cant get a good pic because he blends in too well... any thoughts?

Would need a pic, but sounds like a stomatella or tropical abalone.

Both are good for the tank!

They have a shell that reminds me of a small motorcycle helmet (only covers the most important part but leaves the rest exposed).
