| New LTA Arrived Hey guys, just got my new Long tentacle anemone. However, upon arrival, I have noticed that his mouth is a bit gaping and tentacles, however vibrant green, remain a bit flacid. IS this a bad sign, or is this the usual affects of a 24 hour hike in a pitch black container?
Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated _________ Kibbles and bits and bits and bites, and bacon and bits and kibbles and bits...... NOT reef safe |

| Yeah, his mouth is now gaping about 3/4 of an inch, and there seems to be clear bally looking things sticking halfway out (I don't know if this is it's insides?). However tentacles still look nice, and its foot is still a very health looking red color. Hopefully it goes alright.... 1 hour into acclimation... I'll give him another 2 hours and them settle him down in the sand near some liverock. WIsh me luck! |

| Okay, i have it in the tank now, mouth seems to be quite a bit more approximated... looking good overall... greenish/purple color is becoming alot more visible in the tentacles.... Now how do i get it to foot itself on the aquarium bottom? I cleared out some of the substrate in an area so there is mostly just the aquarium glass on the bottom (I heard LTA's prefer living in the substrate)... Also turned off all my powerheads so that it could get its footing without being blown away. It is now kind of contracting and elevating it's body every 15 seconds or so (don't know whether its trying to get comfortable or what)... Will be posting pics in a few |

| You may find that, after you turn the power heads back on, he moves again. |

| Yeah, I will turn each powerhead on one by one.... either way, he's looking much better now... has already eaten a piece of krill (although my hermits snagged another piece I had given him right before it)... Time to destroy the hermits... j/k!
Anyway guys, here is some eye candy (This way Lunatik can't get angry at the fact that there are no pictures).
and heres a pic that shows the mouth - finally closed tight |
