Default Need some Advice by 8am Central time...

Well today is the day I have to move the tank. I was originally told I had till the end of this month, but they changed their mind. Im having no luck finding a furniture dolly, so I am considering buying a "hand truck" dolly. Dont have enough time to build a furniture dolly either which is what I planned on doing originally. I cant find anywhere to rent me what I need on short notice, so Im going to have to buy something.

Do you all think the tank (125g) would be ok on a hand truck? It weighs 206lbs dry and on the 3rd floor. It does fit in the elevator on a furniture dolly. So a Hand truck is a viable resource if the tank can handle the load of itself at an angle. Here is the one Im looking at buying this morning... 600# Hand Truck

Thanks in Advance!

if you put some plywood; the size of the side, you are placing on the hand truck between the tank and the hand truck. so there is no weight on the glass. you will be fine

Good idea, place a 1/2" sheet of plywood cut to the size of the botttom of the tank and put it between the dolly and tank. But I don't know if you'll be able to reach that far under a 6ft tank to be able to grip the handles on the hand truck. Good luck B.

That particular hand truck has 10" tires with a 10" riser, so laying on the back of the hand truck, there is still 10"s of clearance.

Im about to run to to Lowes with a big wad of cash and see if they have furniture dollies, and just not listing them on their site, which is a possiblity. Im hoping to luck out there. Im also going to run by a moving company and see if they have any available.
