mini maxi carpet anemone

    has anyone experienced a mini maxi carpet anemone defecating? I have had this guy for a month and tonight I am very concerned - I just witnessed the anemone defecate about 5 table spoons worth of ..... my 75 gal looks like a snow globe - is this normal? should I do a water change? is this going to kill anything?
    this tank is full of Sh....

    is the mouth stringy? if it is it is dying. i have a red one in my nano and it never has done that

    you mean the mouth itself or the poop coming from it? Ironically my condylactis seems to defecate sometimes and brown stringy poop comes out. I thought it was normal for anenomes to do this.

    Or brown and stringy (waste)?

    no - when it did it - looked like it mouth turned out wards - and let a toothpaste stream out into the water column - not just once but three times. the tank now looks milky

    it looked like toothpaste - when it hit the powerhead it broke up into finesand grains
    Now the tank is milky

    Sounds more like a spawn to me. This is the 75 gallon right? Skim wet, change the carbon.

    Curious, does this tank receive any natural moon light?

    no natural moon light - I am wet skimming now. Why change the carbon? Is it toxic? I actually run Chemi pure ultra. I just replaced it last week

    Your good then. Not much you can do other than a water change, good carbon, skim wet and make sure you have good surface agitation.

    thanks corilline - so I should do a wc? I just did one this morning LOL
    On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being wc NOW!!!) 1 being if you want too in the next 48 hours - what would you say? Right now the tank is still milky.

    I would be putting together an emergency salt mix wc.
