| maroon clown w/ shredded fins I finally moved my tank yesterday...not much fun for me, the corals or the fish. But it's done and the floor is dry again...
Last night I noticed that my maroon clowns caudal fin looked a little pale around the edges, but figured he'd had a rough day. This morning that fin looked fine, but now his soft dorsal fin has some tears in it. He's been acting fine since the move -- eating like a pig and wallowing in his BTA's. Should I worry about the fin or just give it time? I'm about to do a full set of water chem. tests and if I see anything funky I'll post...
Thanks!

| Give it a little time and keep him fed. Could have been stress related, should rebound IMO. |

| Thanks for the rapid response, Matt. Even though the tank's been running for 9 months, most of my fish disease and disorder experience is of the freshwater variety. Guess that speaks well for how my saltwater specimens have been faring... |

| Just keep an eye on him. As long as a fish is acting normal and eating i dont get to worried about anything. Give him time i'm guessing he went through a lot during the tank move.

| I would dose with iodine, if you aren't doing so already as that will help act as a germicidal among other things!!!!! I wouldn't worry too much about it right now!!! As mentioned above, stress wrecks havoc on tank inhabitants and the sooner, the stressers are eliminated the better!!!
Congrats on your successful move by the way!!!! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | Thanks! I'll get some pics of the new set up posted once I finish tweaking the rockwork...
Can you give me a bit more detail about iodine dosing? Do you mean dose the clownfish alone? Or just the tank in general? I've got ESV 1% potassium iodide that I supplement once a week. Will that do the job? |
