| Mantis Shrimp!!!!!!!! My friend has had his setup running for about 3 months now and he said to me a little while ago he heard a clicking noise coming from the tank at night and he said he had noticed dust clouds sometims coming from the live rock. i said that it might be a mantis shrimp and he denied it, but last night we put a couple of snails from the beach into the tank and guess what came flying out grabbed a snail an shot back into a hole. yep a mantis shrimp. i dont know much about them apart from they are lethal. is there any easy way to get rid of it and wot harm will it do to his fish???? thanks |

| Are you sure it's a mantis and not a pistol, they make the same clicking sound? A pistol has one claw bigger than the other, mantis have big bulging eyes and they hold there claws under them. _________ 20g

| Make sure after you catch this invert that you see if the local fish store or someone online may want it. Hate to see you just flush it because there are people that raise them. |

| They're neat lil critters. If it's a peacock mantis shrimp you should have little trouble finding someone to take it. The peacocks are in high demand among people who keep them. |
