| Linckia Ok, well
When i got all my stuff from reefermadness i noticed that the linckia star had a tiny bit of an injury on one of the tips of its arms, now today it seems that it is an infection. i believe that they will probably exchange it because it had the infection before i put it in my tank, but i do want to try and save it.
should i cut of the part that is infected and if so how should i? there is also another small injury on another arm should i cut that tip off 2? thanks

Star fish aren't very hardy, and you could ens up doing more harm than good. The best bet I would think would be to keep an eye on it but leave it alone.

| i am really getting worried now, the infection (i suppose) is now on almost 100% of the arm. I am really debating whether to just leave it alone or to amputate the arm...if it does come to that should i leave him in the tank and cut it off or take him out? also should i use a sharp knife or a razor? thanks... |

| I wouldn't cut anything as it would probably only stress the animal out and cause it to die. How did you acclimate the star? |

| It's nothing you did. FWIW, it's not an infection, it's much worse then that. 99.99% of the time, they die due to that. No need for me to get into it, just take my word your friend is on it's way out and there's not much of anything that can help it now.
I agree with all, don't cut anything on it. In the wild, they're hardy as heck, and wouldn't mind if you cut it in half even. In our tanks, they're far from hardy.
