H2S can even kill you instantly if the concentration is strong enough.

David clearly saw everything keeling over and went to bed hoping that in the morning, everything would be all-right.

Hydrogen sulphide, while rare in large quantities, can exist and if enough of it is released into your tank at once, you're talking minutes here....not hours.

He decided that the sandbed looked a little dirty so he stirred the DSB. He hit a H2S zone and nuked every living thing in the tank. Bristleworms were dead lying on the rock. Chitons, amphipods, mysid shrimp, cleaner shrimp, fish corals, keyhole limpets, yada, yada, yada litterally were so thick on the sandbed that you could barely see the sand anymore.
Ouch! Was he able to sit down for about a week, or do you have a murder rap hanging over you now in court???

A waterchange will never hurt.
Did the smell go away and are all the tests still coming in regular?

The smell is gone I am waiting for salt to mix for the change. The corals are looking good.

Actually, I was so mad that I couldn't even speak nor look at him. He started apologizing profusely and I said, "I know but stop apologizing and leave me alone for a couple of hours". He's never seen me mad like that before and it had an impact.

After this incident, I set him up with his own nano so he satisfy his desire to be an aquarist but leave my tanks alone.
