| HELP - Something wrong with Clowns eye! -PICS Hey everyone, need some expert advice ASAP
Ever seen that movie quasimoto(sp?) Well, yeah, thats what my fish looks like right now.. one of his eyes is SWOLLEN looks like its about to explode out of his head.. My gf and I saw some fish at the fish store that had this yesterday and we though it was pretty gross... Well it was fine when we woke up, and now its all crazy looking.. All params look fine btw. He is still swimming around.. I fed him some pellets and he ate them all..
Things I added yesterday after a frag swap
-zoos
-2 kenya trees
-pulsing xenia
-Large Bubble Tip Anemone (lfs)
-3 rubble rocks from lfs to mount frags
-5 tiny brittle stars
I also have a cyano breakout at the moment that I bought chemiclean red slime remover, but have not put any in the tank.
PICS arent the best, but its the best I could get:
See the similarity? |

| is it just the one ? it could be pop eye no pun intended (: first off I get me some mardels maraycin and have it on hand all the time and watch it for a few days its its just an injury it should look better in a day or so as the swelling goes down. But if it gets really cloudy white and the other even starts to puff up and or gets hazy looking treat the tank..If you really like the fish you may want to start a 1/2 does treatment starting asap.. _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| Maracyn II is definately NOT reef safe. Maracyn can be fine if used at low dosages. However, a lot of it depends on type of tank, filtration, ect. Do you have a quarantine tank? _________ Curt |

| Penicillin works well and so does furan. If you decide to treat, place it in a 10g tank. I just went through a severe bout with this with my flag fin angel. I treated it with both furan and penicillin together because it was so severe with fin rot and hemorrhagic abdomen and mouth. Its cloud eye or pop eye. Its usually caused by trauma with a secondary infection but it can be a primary infection. FW dips help. _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam

| I do agree that it looks like pop eye. My angel had it for a while. It eventually went away in a few days without any other tank inhabitants catching it. So I can't say if it is contagious or not. |

| What happened? Hopefully it was an injury. I had good luck dosing epson salts directly into the display. It draws the fluid out in about a week. Possibly saved his eye.
