Dancin_trancy Don't let it bother so much, As Bruce said everyone makes mistakes. What do you have in your QT tank that could have caused the ammonia spike? Karma from me also for your loss........... John

I was an idiot and put some food in there prior to going to work....the tank is very small, only 6 gallons...thats the only thing I can think of, he was hiding and didnt come out to eat it....Because I checked the water per. the night before and it was fine.....was just really bummed out lastnight, it was the first time I lost something...and knowing it was my own fault, and trying to save him and it not working really made it worse...maybe I was being too sensitive...

Anywho....thank you for all your comments...Stef
