| Help, New Rabbitfish Same Problem So my last rabbitfish just died about 3 days ago. Did a water change and went out and bought a new rabbitfish. Woke up this morning, found his laying on the sand bed. He is still alive, trying to swim and he is still breathing.
All of my param's are in check, so why is it that my rabbitfish keep dying. Every other fish is doing extremely well. Absolutely no other problems with anything in the tank except for the rabbits. I have a feeling I will lose this one also within the next couple hours unless something miracolous happens. Anybody have any insight on why my rabbits keep dying. They appear healthy, eat well and then I wake up one morning to find them struggling for life.
Please help, I'm tired of losing rabbitfish and the money I keep putting into them.

| Something in tank does not like them.
Is a sensitive animal. Probably stress due to your something in your tank environment is more then it can take..
Try another species... _________ AG "125," AquaC EV 180, 30 gal sump, "SCWD", 80 lbs LR, CoralSeaLife "Moonlite" Hood, PFO 250W HQI Mini-Pendant (SPS HQI 14000k bulb)

| I dont think anything is bullying him. The only fish that I think would do it would be the yellow tang but I watched them 2 swim together with no problems what so ever. I just don't get it. I thought they were a pretty hardy species, and with all of my params in check I don't know what's going on. I'm thinking with this one being fairly new if its a combination of stress and bad stock.
I'm clueless at this point. I guess no more rabbitfish for me. |

| I just went to my LFS. Got my water tested, my nitrates were running a little high. He said once I get my water back to normal he will refund me for the rabbit. I only had him two days. I don't have the option of another LFS. This one is pretty good. The next one in the area is a big rip off and doesn't have the knowledge of anything saltwater- the store is a whole pet store with fresh, salt, kittens dogs, reptiles and birds. The staff is pretty ignorant at that one.
Thanks for all your help guys. But he is a gonner.

Sorry for loss...
Would wait awhile before making another trip to LFS...concentrate on getting water params completely stable for couple of months before adding another fish.
Good Luck! |
