Help! my tang has a pimple :(

Hi guys, I got this yellow tang about a week ago. Everything seemed ok until today I noticed a large pimple-like white spot on his side. My first thought was ick, but he has only this white mark on him. Any ideas what this is?

Might be a parasite of some type. If fish is healthy, and it looks so, it will probably shake it off in day or so.

Either a protozoan or parasitic crustacean/worm to me! A quarantine tank and/or dip may be the best alternative towards treating the Tang!

Sorry 'bout the pimple thing, and I hope it goes away without incident, but I have an off the subject question for ya. How did you do the close up and graphics on the pic of the Tang?? That's pretty cool!

Hi Cuttingras! There is really no great trick into it. I just started off with a big resolution pic (taken with my cellphone). I cut of the affected area and resized the picture into a smaller one. I used an image editor to paste both images together and drew the "close-up" circle and lines...
