Default Help with my brittle star.!!!

hi there. i currently have a 50 gal set up with a few clowns, damsels and one trigger fish.. nothing bigger than 2" in length.. i have about 40lbs of live rock and 2 weeks ago i got me a brittle star.. he seemed to be doing well and today i noticed that his legs have been either broken off or nipped at and are now missing about 2" or so on a few limbs.. will they grow back? what should i do.. the Pett shop said it would be fine with the fish that i had in my tank so i dint think they would attack.. please help

umm your trigger is enjoying the treat! the brittle star and trigger won't get along, the trigger is inviting the star to dinner as the main course

I think so.

I was reading last night that starfish that get cut in pieces will even generate into new starfishes if some of the center of the starfish remains with the cut limbs. Not the same thing that you have, but just thought I'd share!

Mega dittos, trigger fish are well known predators of both invertibrates and smaller fishes. Sorry for your loss.

Yeah, triggers are beautiful, and i want one or two or threee, but i think i would have to have a fish tank to enjoy them in.
