I got my damsel out by sticking the net close to his hiding place and putting food in the water to get him to come out; by holding the net still he just kind of got used to it and wasn't really afraid to come out (especially with food in the water). Get him as close to the net as possible, maybe by even putting food in the net. The trick is getting him to swim above the net against a tank wall (this way you can trap him and keep him from swimming out by holding the net against the glass), and you have to be quick. Took me only a couple tries.
