I use 6 diffrent heaters ranging in heat sizes three are jagers and the other three are titanium that way i can run a couple off controllers from the sump and have a couple in the tanks in case of pump failure or one goes bad.

buckshot is on a distinguished road

Default why not to use glass heater

last night I was awakened by strange noise, a crackling. And an awful smell of electrical burning. I opened my stand to see a bright blue arcing coming from the bottom of my sump. My Visitherm went into meltdown. It didn't raise the water temperature but it did kill my fish, a maroon clown and yellow tang. Only thing I can figure is the fish were electrocuted (if thats even possible). The water now has that nasty burnt electrical smell, I'm starting to filter the water through some charcoal hoping to remove the oder.
