I have several fungia, I refer to them as plate coral. I have one I had problems with tissue receeding, which I discovered was from being placed on a hard surface, damages delicate tissue. I didn't do too much just tested all my levels and it looks like you are. Mine kept retracted for about a week and just looked like dead skeleton. Temp ideally should be closer to 78 but I don't think that would cause this damage. It looks to be in very bad shape. It has expelled most of it's zooanthellae. You should watch your amonia levels. If it is sliming as you say and your other corals are showing stress it just may be time to toss it. Good luck

Well, there still is some tissue left on it. Not as much slime being produced, i`ll do a water change, little less light on that side of the tank today and hope for the best.

Hey if you get a chance you might want to check wetwebmedia.com or you can e-mail them at Crew@WetWebMedia.com. (attach your photos) They give terrific advice and usually get back to you the same day. They have helped me several times. Post updates, I am curious to see if it recovers.
Good Luck!

Well as of this morning there are some spots left that have tissue. Less slime is being produced and no other corals in the tank are stressed at the moment. All water parameters are still good, no spike in ammonia. I will just let it be and see what happens. I went back to turning the MH on that end of the tank but only for 3-5 hours, as to not bleach it. I will keep posting to let you know the outcome. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I`m wondering if i should do an iodine dip or just let it be? Was reading a thread on a sick brain coral and someone suggested a dip useing, Lugol`s. Or maybe just let it be?

Any suggestions with this idea?

Doesn't look good to me. Is that brown stuff algae growing on it or brown slime?

that was the color if it when i got it. It shed alot of its tissue, whats left in the pic is the actual tissue of the coral.

I'd toss it, its a goner. You're fighting a losing battle. I hate it for ya. Thats how it goes sometimes. It appears that from what you've said in previous posts, you got a sick coral to begin with.
