Default Glue and a Pump

Building a refugium. It hooks up to a 30gal and a 65gal tank, both siphon into this refugium. It'll work... trust me, I've got it figured out. The only things now are:

1. I need a pump to push water back into BOTH tanks. I plan to attach a 'Y' adapter to the pump or hose.

Like that, if that makes sense.

2. I'm building the refugium out of 1/4" thick Polyester plastic. Clear, tough, and cheaper than acrylic. What can I use to glue it? Does Silicone gel stuff that we use as aquarium sealant work?

If you are trying to glue pieces of polyester together than I would not use silicone, thats just asking for trouble. You will need some type of glue that will weld it together. Weldon#4 and 16 will glue acryllic and is SW safe but I don't know about the material you are using. I would talk to a plastics company.

You could use weldon # 4052 or 4042. It will work but it need 24 hours to dry . Thereafter, strength will continue to increase gradually for some weeks. This stuff will glue .pvc, acrylic, polyester, styrene, noryl ,etc.... to themselves and each other ....

What about a pump? I want something that can kind of sit in the tank, and pump water through a tube (1/2" or 3/4") that will power a venturi proteim skimmer that I am building. I'm not sure what this kind of pump is even called... a little help? Thanks guys

Right, I need a pump for both actually. For the skimmer, it will sit in my aquarium, and pump through a venturi device which I built into the skimmer I'm building.

For the refugium, I need a pump that is strong enough to take a "y"-splitter so it will pump back into both aquariums I have.
